Extreme Rating for Fire South of Kimberley
Fire ratings across BC continue to climb, thanks to recent hot and dry weather.
The East Kootenay region is included in this now seeing an extreme rating in an area south of Kimberley to north of Canal Flats.
Southeast Fire Centre Fire Information Officer Gwen Eamer says despite this, there are no fire bans.
If you do see smoke, Eamer says don't assume someone else has reported it, call the Fire Center at 1-800-663-55-55 immediately. If you are outdoors a lot you might wanna program this number in your cell as its going to be a long long dry summer.
