Baby Ban! Whoooooaaaa

Many of you know my personal view of this sitch' as I've ranted from time and time again. Perhaps thats why a Schoolyard Musings long time follower forwarded me this gem of an article:

Foodies chew over Ottawa restaurant's baby ban

Basically, yaaaaa, awkward.... When other people are paying $100 for a meal or even $40 a meal, leave the crying baby at home for the love of mankind! JEEEEEEZ.

  1. Schoolyard I love you, I truly do... but what's next. Have we become such a narcissistic society that we are now banning babies!

I'm not talking about screaming, mannerless, toddlers; I'm talking about a crying baby. Most mothers will do their best to stem the crying, most mothers are really good about that.

But when you ban babies from restaurants you also ban mothers from restaurants, and that's not cool. Perhaps all you ladies who haven't had babies yet could buy her a drink instead of judging her so harshly; because one day 99% of you will be THERE. Jus saying.

  2. However, if it's a restaurant that is not child friendly – i.e. no high chairs or booster seats is usually a good indicator – skip it and take the kids to a different place.

I have two kids and while we've been really lucky, we skip the high end places and head for middle of the road when eating out.

If I want to eat at a fancy schmancy restaurant with my dead sexy hubby and don my slut heels and sexeh dress, I'm gonna leave the kids at home. It makes me happy. It makes others happy.
